Week 1 Self Study

This week for self study we learnt how to use blender following a barrel tutorial, and then we had to make a tourist attraction from Tasmania.
Barrel:
The tutorial I used to create the barrel was Blender 2.8 How to Create a Wooden Barrel, I did struggle with this a little as I'd never used blender before, and some of the option have moved around in 4.3.2, But other than that the tutorial was quite easy to follow. Here are some images for my barrel;
Tourist Attraction:
I choose something local for my tourist attraction, I spotted it when I was taking the bus over to Eastlands. I picked to recreate the Hobart Cenotaph. I found this really fun to recreate even though I didn't do all the little details. The only part I found difficult was texturing the model, as I wanted a brick texture and I'm terrible at drawing, but I manged to figure it out. I haven't been able to visit the Cenotaph in person yet, so the real life photos have been taken from Google Earth. Hobart Cenotaph in Google Earth
I picked the Hobart Cenotaph because its in a quite lovely spot near the water, and is one of the first couple of spots that pop up when you google Hobart tourist attraction. Although my replication isn't 100% the exact same as the real life version I still believe that I did pretty well :)
This is all for week one, Hopefully Blender doesn't kick my butt next week :)
I forgot to publish the post, that's why the original date vs actual publish date is different, oopies :)
