Presentation and Graphics


I have designed a new title screen that allows the user to access both the level and stats scenes, and the title screen now displays the game’s title.


 

The user can now see the player’s health in the top left corner or the game, which will allow the user to keep track of how they are progressing in the game, the players health resets with every level. Some feedback that I received when showing my game was that my game could benefit from having the game display how many enemies are left to defeat within the level, as they hid around the map, this is something that I am currently working on.


 

I have also added some conditions that allow the game to end and the player to access the other levels within the game to play. The first condition that I used was when the player’s health drops to zero or below, to move the game to a scene that shows the user that the player has been defeated by the pathogen. The second condition that I used was when there were no longer enemies detected within the level, to cut to a scene expressing to the player that they had successfully defeated the pathogen. Each scene has 2 buttons allowing the user to either return to the levels scene to pick a new level or restart the level they are currently playing.


I am currently adding animations to the cut scenes, allowing the user to interact with the tropey on the enemies defeated scene, and have virus cells moving around the screen and have them try and attack the player's mouse on the player defeated scene.
